Dynamic Type Vacuum Producers:
DALTEC high static, single stage centrifugal fans 

The impeller is driven at 3600 rpm, using an overhung design, usually direct driven in an Arrangement 8 configuration (see Figure 2 below).  The standard impeller is fabricated of aircraft quality aluminum, though both steel and stainless steel impellers are available.  They are radial type (backward curved) and tapered to achieve low noise and high mechanical efficiency.

The housing is welded steel, and heavily reinforced to prevent vibration at high vacuum.  Bearings are industry standard pillow block type, widely available.  

The shaft seal is a low maintenance ceramic felt type.  High temperature designs use all stainless fabrication and special shaft seals for gasses up to 600F.

• Inexpensive design.  Turbo fans are usually 4 times less than comparable multi-stage centrifugals.

• Stable performance across a performance curve almost as flat as the multi-stage units.

These systems are perfect for central vacuum systems with a large number of operators where the system vacuum is 5 - 7" Hg.
