General Design Details

Sutorbilt 8000Q Series Vacuum Producers are high flow, positive displacement rotary lobe type designed for continuous duty service at 15" Hg.  They operate in one direction only.

Q stands for quiet!  A unique casing design reduces pressure pulsations created at the discharge port.

A cleverly designed feedback plenum bleeds air into the closed pocket (see point A in Figure 1).  When the rotor tip passes the long edge of the discharge port, the pocket is almost completely pressurized, and there is very little disturbance to create noise.

Seven models are available, with flows up to 30,000 ICFM @ 15" Hg.  Rotor shaft diameter and bearing sizes have been increased to greatly enhance service life at full design pressures.
