The Electric Motor

The motors are 1750 rpm LEESON 15 and 20 Hp. We use the WATTSAVER Series premium efficiency type as standard.  All motors are TEFC (totally enclosed fan cooled) type and feature a cast iron electrical connection box.

We assemble the DuroVac and stock them without the motors.  After an order is received, a motor, slide base, and motor starter of the correct size and voltage is installed.  

There is no difference in price for 460/240/3/60 and 575/3/60 motors. There is no difference in price for 50 Hz. motors.  There is a $600 upgrade cost for 208/3/60 motors: $200 for a larger motor frame, and $400 for the high amperage starter.

LEESON motors are a high end Asian built motor, UL and CSA approved, and we’ve had no trouble at all with any them.
