A central vacuum is the ultimate team player: it supports multiple teammates, integrates into your existing system, and handles a ton of hard work.

But is it right for your facility? Your particular process might benefit more from a plug-and-play portable vacuum or a customized solution – we can usually tell from a quick conversation.

To find out the basic benefits of a central vacuum, though, feel free to start here.

Handle material the way you want it to be handled. Period.

Why get a central vac as opposed to a portable? Central vacuum systems hook up to a fixed piping network in your facility, so you can set them up to collect material at strategic points throughout your process. They can be configured for use with multiple operators or as part of a pneumatic conveying system that pipes material to different parts of the process.

That makes for a whole lot of added efficiency. Central vacs cut down on time spent hauling debris around the plant, and they operate quickly enough that your workers can get cleaning out of the way to focus on more important tasks. They also save you money on vacuum truck rentals over time.

Compliance alliance

Industrial central vacuums are usually recommended for lighter, less abrasive materials, which are typically more combustible. The NFPA encourages the use of central vacs because of their fixed, stationary nature, and also because they come equipped with the whole gamut of explosion control.

If your plant handles silica dust, an industrial vac (central or portable) can be equipped with a HEPA filter for 99.97 percent filtration. It’s an ideal engineering control for OSHA compliance.

Types of central vacs

We have a handy page that outlines each type of industrial central vacuum we offer, but here’s an even quicker breakdown.

Multi-operator central vacuums support multiple operators, of course, meaning several users can vacuum at once without sacrificing performance.

Vacuum conveying systems move high tonnages of material to your waste management system, making disposal a breeze.

Small stationary central vacuums are converted versions of our portable vacs, making them a cost-effective option with fast installation.

Center of attention

Central vacs work so hard without rest, you may be tempted to buy it a beer at the end of the day – but all it really needs is a filter change every few years. That’s pretty much the extent of its maintenance requirements.

So, is a central vacuum system right for you? The best way to find out is by talking to one of our friendly industrial vacuum experts. Give us a call to kick your cleaning process up a notch.
